05.13.08 Here's my latest drawing. I've been trying to get a bunch of stuff together to print for my house, and I have been wanting to do this drawing for a year now.

04.14.08 For the last few months I started on a project that I had been wanting to do for several years now. This doll house kit is the perfect haunted house model, and it stands nearly 4 feet tall. I just finished siding the house with about five hundred tongue depressors. This is the mother of all my neurotic projects. I hope to finish the house in the next few months, and then let my girls have it when they get a little older.

02.28.08 Over the last month I have been working on a painting for a group show here in Seattle at the Ouch My Eye Gallery. The opening is this Saturday at 8:00 pm, and here is a link. The theme of the show is Saturday morning cartoons, and my choice was to do the Gruesome Twosome from the show Wacky Races. You have to love a haunted house hot rod.

01.07.08 I was checking my stats this morning and noticed some traffic last month from an excellent flash resource website called Flashkit.com. I have been using their site for many years, and to get a nod from them is a great personal honor.

11.11.07 Here's the paintings I'm showing at a group show next month. The theme of the show is "Good vs. Evil". I decided to do a Jekyll/Hyde interpretation. The frames in the pics are the real deal. I bought them at an antique mall, and they look to be very old.

08.27.07 Bright-eyed Junebug! The happiest baby in the universe!

08.11.07 I went to an antique shop this week and found this old picture of a kid dressed as a ghost for Halloween. The owner said it was probably from the 20's, but I'm not sure. I would have to do some research on the actual mask itself. There were several shots of different costumes, but this one creeped me out the most. I had to buy it. I think the spookiest thing about this photo is that you can't see the kid's eyes behind the mask.

08.06.07 Here's the second in the series of tarot cards. This card is "strength".

The modern interpretation of the card stresses discipline and control. The lion represents the primal 'id' part of the mind, and the woman, the 'higher' or more elevated parts.

08.01.07 A fake Nancy Drew book cover of my daughter Isabella.

07.30.07 Here's the second of 4 new images that I have been working on.

07.30.07 Here's the first card that might turn into a series of tarot cards. The first one I chose was the hanged man. The last line in this excerpt from Wikipedia says it all...

The gallows from which the Hanged Man is suspended forms a Tau cross, while his legs form a fylfot cross; there is a nimbus about his head. The tree of sacrifice is living wood, with leaves thereon, and the face expresses deep entrancement, not suffering. The figure suggests life overturned and in suspension, but not death.

06.20.07 My second daughter, Penelope June, was born this morning at 5:10am. She's 8 pounds 3 ounces and a wonderful addition to the family...

05.27.07 I finally completed a painting that I had wanted to do for some time. This painting is called "The Fates" and is 8x24 inches acrylic on canvas.

03.17.07 Here's an illustration of Izzy walking through a magical forest.

02.15.07 Me and Izzy in her favorite park next to our house. She seems to really love the outdoors, and is always pointing out mountains when we are riding in the car.

01.07.07 My first painting in a long time. This one is more of a self portrait. The title is called "Born Under a Bad Sign" a.k.a. "Family Tree". The painting is 12x36 inches and is acrylic on canvas.

12.25.06 So many light years ahead of his time...

12.06.06 Here it is almost Christmas and I'm still stuck on Halloween...

10.17.06 Not much time for Halloween art this year- we're moving at the end of the month. Here's something I was just messing around with in Photoshop. It reminds me of something right out of Dante's Inferno, or maybe a Molly Hatchet album cover. Oh well, Halloween with have to be delayed until November...

09.17.06 The first in the series of this years crop of Halloween projects.

08.05.06 The sixth...

07.28.06 Here's the fifth drawing in the "fake" golden book covers...

07.18.06 Inspired by Izzy's backyard pool.

07.16.06 Here's my latest addition.

07.07.06 Shine on...

Syd Barrett
1946 - 2006

07.07.06 The fourth in the series...

06.18.06 Here's a creepy little Bavarian village I'm currently working on...

06.11.06 An illustration that continues with the sinister/sweet theme I have going on...

05.23.06 And another...

05.12.06 Another attempt at a Golden Book cover that would have never made it to the shelves.

05.01.06 I just got back from a beautiful week in Kauai. Here a pic from where I spent most of my time snorkeling and relaxing.

04.02.06 Lately I have been buying up as many vintage books that I had when I was a kid. I have just started to digest the great works of Mary Blair, Alice and Martin Provensen, M Sasek, and J.P. Miller. I love the classic style, and the biggest lesson I'm learning is that these illustrators were masters at the "less-is-more" technique. Here's my attempt at a Golden Book cover that would have never made it to the shelves.

03.12.06 Here's something that I have been working on that uses some of the new features in Flash 8.0. Click on the image of the car and it will take you to the animation.

03.03.06 Wow, I've been bad about posting stuff lately... Here's a couple of things I've done in the last month or so. I'm working on 2 short animations and a new idea for a painting.

Here's an idea for a deck board I had.

Another scene from an animation that's currently under development...

The main reason for not posting is summed up in this image. Izzy's favorite pastime is playing with everything BUT her toys. Here she is getting caught touching Daddy's acoustic. One of the words she totally understands is "dance". Just play her a song, and ask her to dance, and she politely complies.

12.10.05...

Richard Pryor 1940-2005

12.07.05 Here's my latest drawing. It's called "The Witches Hut". I'll have a print of it soon in my online store.

11.14.05 A little late for Halloween, but I have completed the last in this series of new posters. I can't wait to get these things printed. They are going to be 18 x 24 inches, and you can't tell by the photos, but they have a bunch of detail. I have used halftone filters to give the retro movie poster effect, and added some layers to give it a distressed look. Once I get them printed and check out the quality, I will be making these prints available through the site.

The Monster Awakes
The Headless Ghost
Curse of the Mummy
Night of the Werewolf
Revenge of the Vampyre
The Witch's Cauldron

10.03.05 Happy October! It's my favorite month, and plenty of artwork is being created. Currently I am working on an animation, several drawings, and preparing for Halloween. Here's some of the updates...

Here's a 10 foot ghost I created this weekend for our back door. Last year I created a smaller one, but this one is far more ghastly. I think I might have to make a tradition out of it. It looks pretty scary at night when the wind brings it to life...
Here is the first in a series of 6 Halloween decorations that I started for the house. I don't know when they will be finished, but I am currently working on the Mummy and it's turning out better than I thought.
Here's a picture of Izzy that was taken last week. She was so tired from posing for the camera, that she decided to take a nap.

07.18.05 IzzyB hamming it up for the camera...

07.18.05 Here's an town animation I am working on...

07.10.05 Here's a few new things I've been working on with my sleep deprived state...

06.09.05 Baby Isabella Autumn was born on Thursday morning at 1:00am. She weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. To say that I am a proud papa is an understatement...

03.09.05 I have completed the Raven animation and am working on finding a server so I can stream the 10 minute video.

02.07.05 For the last couple of months I have been working on my most ambitious animation to date- Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven. I am almost finished, and am currently working on the final scenes. The final version will be on DVD, but here are a few screenshots.
