| Here is a portrait I did of Charles Mingus, for his son Eric Mingus (pictured). The very first song that turned me on to jazz was a Mingus composition called "Scenes in the City". From that day forward I was hooked. I was asked to do this painting by the legendary Howlin' Wolf guitarist Hubert Sumlin, and his manager Toni Ann. |
